PMLC Project Execution

Project Execution is the third stage of the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC). In this stage, the project plan is put into action and the project deliverables are produced.

Here are some of the key activities that take place during project execution:
  1. Direct and Manage Project Work: The project team executes the project plan by directing and managing the work of the project team. This involves coordinating activities, allocating resources, and ensuring that the project stays on track.
  2. Monitor and Control Project Work: The project team monitors project progress and performance to ensure that the project is meeting its objectives. This includes tracking project activities, measuring progress against the project plan, and identifying and addressing any issues that arise.
  3. Manage Project Changes: Changes are an inevitable part of any project. The project team manages changes by assessing their impact on the project and making adjustments to the project plan as needed.
  4. Manage Project Risks: The project team manages project risks by monitoring and controlling potential risks, and taking action to mitigate or avoid them.
  5. Manage Project Quality: The project team ensures that project deliverables meet the required quality standards by implementing the quality management plan.
  6. Manage Project Communication: The project team communicates project information to stakeholders on an ongoing basis. This includes providing regular progress reports, addressing stakeholder concerns, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  7. Manage Project Stakeholders: The project team manages project stakeholders by identifying their needs and expectations, and ensuring that they are engaged and informed throughout the project.

Overall, project execution is the longest and most complex stage of the PMLC. It is where the project plan is put into action and the project deliverables are produced. By completing the activities in project execution, the project team can ensure that the project is executed efficiently and effectively, and that project deliverables are of high quality.
